From 28 to 30 August, Eindhoven set the stage for DE OPENING: the national launch of the new cultural season. With more than 200 activities, around 100,000 visitors and a programme extending from Eindhoven to locations across the Netherlands, the city was immersed in culture for three full days.
Music, theatre, dance, visual arts and live entertainment came together at venues throughout the city. Stadhuisplein formed the vibrant heart of the programme and provided the setting for several live television broadcasts. Commissioned by Unlimited Productions, we were responsible for providing the technical production throughout the weekend.

During DE OPENING Live 2026, Soy Kroon presented a varied programme featuring performances by Karin Bloemen, Fresku, Zoë Livay, Joël Borelli and others. The opening show was broadcast live on NPO Start and NPO 2 Extra, with a highlights programme airing later on NPO 3.
More than 70 musical theatre stars on one stage
The weekend concluded with Musical Awards: The Kick-Off. Presenters Frits Sissing and Marlijn Weerdenburg joined more than 70 musical theatre stars to officially launch the new theatre season. During the live show, audiences were treated to a preview of more than 15 productions.
